Synthstrom Festival #4 proceeds & playlist
A huge thanks to all the artists who contributed videos and all the viewers who donated and made our last streaming festival not just a really fun experience, but gave our community another great opportunity to support some worthwhile causes!
With a percentage of the ticket sales going to charity and also many a bunch of artists choosing to instead donate their fee towards charity meant we have $635 to donate!
We have chosen this time to split that between two groups we support.
$320 to Shakti New Zealand:
“Shakti’s mission is to support migrant and refugee women, youth, and families in living empowered and safe lives free from all forms of violence. We endeavour to help our communities overcome the barriers that come with migration and to eliminate intergenerational forms of cultural oppression. Founded by and for ethnic women, Shakti is dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights and advocating for social change.”

$315 to Girls Rock Aotearoa.
“To help young women, transgender and gender non-conforming youth build confidence and practical skills in songwriting and music through tutoring and practice. To utilise the talent of local songwriters and music-makers to help mentor and guide participants. To educate young people through talks and collaborative workshops on songwriting, design, feminism and wellbeing. To support and promote the presence of women, transgender and gender non-conforming youth in music.”
